Comprehensive Immigration Reform
On September 15, 2009 representatives from several religious communities, dioceses and parishes in Minnesota met to organize our renewed efforts toward comprehensive immigration reform. About 30 people from the Catholic community gathered in two work groups. One group developed a kick-off meeting model to assist in organizing events throughout the state. Another group assessed available resources and created new ones so that parishes have the tools they need as they work to broaden the base of Catholic engaged in this work.
In October, the Minnesota Bishops decided that they would declare January 3, 2010 as Immigration Sunday for Catholics in Minnesota. More information is available at……
